Katherine ShapiroAssociate
Katherine is deeply committed to safeguarding the rights of consumers and injured people. Practicing primarily in the area of class action and tort law, Katherine has experience in representing plaintiffs across Canada in complex product liability, competition, consumer protection and securities litigation. She has appeared as counsel at all levels of court in Ontario and British Columbia.
Prior to joining RHE in 2024, Katherine began her practice at a plaintiffs’ class action firm in Toronto. There, she worked on all aspects of multiparty cases related to pharmaceuticals, price-fixing, and pesticides.
Katherine has also been involved in a variety of community initiatives, including assisting with the Osgoode Hall Investor Protection Clinic and the Winkler Class Actions Moot. While in law school, she volunteered extensively with Downtown Legal Services, a community legal clinic advocating on behalf of tenants.
Before law school, Katherine was a researcher with the Department of Biochemistry at Western University where her work focused on tools for gene editing and computational technologies.
