Overview
Rice Harbut Elliott LLP has filed a proposed class action lawsuit against FCA Canada Inc. and FCA US LLC on behalf of Canadians who are former or current owners, lessees, users and passengers of Jeep 4XE plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, including the following models:
– Model Year 2020-2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe
– Model Year 2022-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe
The action alleges that these vehicles suffer from a dangerous and defect battery system that can cause, and has caused, deadly vehicle fires—even while the vehicle is parked or its ignition is turned off. Due to FCA’s actions, Canadians ended up with a product with significant safety risks that was negligently designed, carelessly manufactured, and deceptively marketed to them.

Please see the Notice of Civil Claim for more information about the class action, here.
This litigation is still in its early stages. The court will decide at a later date if the case will proceed as a class action.
