Potential Class Action Involving 2016 to 2020 Honda and Acura Vehicles
If you have purchased a 2016 to 2020 Honda Pilot, Honda Odyssey, Acura TLX or Acura MDX (the “Class Vehicles”) you may be affected by a defect in the idle stop feature in these vehicles (the “Idle Stop Defect”).
The idle stop feature in the Class Vehicles is designed to automatically shut off the engine when the brake pedal is fully applied and the vehicle is idling. When working properly, the idle stop feature automatically restarts the engine when the driver releases the brake pedal.
The idle stop feature in the Class Vehicles is alleged to be subject to sudden and unexpected failure. Specifically, although the idle stop feature automatically activates and shuts down the engine when the brake pedal is fully applied and the vehicle is at idle, the idle stop feature may not automatically restart the engine. As a result the vehicle will, suddenly and without notice, become inoperable and undriveable wherever it rests.
