JMR Client Involved in Motor Vehicle Collision Awarded Over $177,000

Vehicle Collision

Michael Elliott and Cody Wagner acted for a 36-year-old lawyer who suffered injury to her back and neck, as well as headaches, as a result of a significant motor vehicle collision.  At the time of the collision the plaintiff worked in a busy litigation law firm.  Due to her hard work and determination, the plaintiff continued to work through her pain at the litigation firm and subsequent law institutions but found her symptoms impacted her ability to focus and concentrate.  ICBC argued that the plaintiff’s injuries had no effect on her ability to work at all and she required only minimal care costs in the future.  The trial judge rejected ICBC’s arguments and awarded a total of $177,177 including $65,000 for non-pecuniary damages, $10,000 for past wage loss, $85,000 for future loss of income earning capacity, and $12,460 for cost of future care.  The full reasons for judgment can be found here.
