Lapu-Lapu Festival Class Action
Rice Harbut Elliott LLP and Hunter Litigation Chambers have filed a proposed class action lawsuit on behalf of all persons in Canada who claim physical and/or mental injuries as a result of the tragic events that occurred at the Lapu-Lapu Day Block Party (the “Festival”) held on April 26, 2025, and for people who are entitled to make claims under the Family Compensation Act, for deaths that occurred at the Festival.

Overview
A proposed class action has been filed in the Supreme Court of British Columbia against the City Of Vancouver, Vancouver Coastal Health Authority and Kai-Ji Adam Lo. The lawsuit alleges that Defendants’ Negligence, Failure to Warn and Breach of Statutory Duties led to Class Members suffering loss and damage that was a direct and foreseeable consequence of the Defendants’ negligence.
The case is brought on behalf of all persons who claim physical and/or mental injuries as a result of the tragic events that occurred at the Festival, and for people who are entitled to make claims under the Family Compensation Act, for deaths that occurred at the Festival.
