Gold v. Joe, 2008 BCSC 865

RHE wins $206,915 in damages for injured Mill Worker who suffered chronic pain as a result of a serious rear-end accident.

Kevin Jarvis and John Rice were trial counsel for Leonard Gold, a 56 year old mill worker who was injured in a heavy rear-end car accident. He developed chronic pain in his neck and back and painful post-traumatic headaches.

RHE argued his ability to work until retirement was greatly impacted. ICBC defended the case by saying Mr. Gold’s injuries were not as severe as he claimed blaming other unrelated health issues such as a heart attack he had suffered.

The trial judge awarded Mr. Gold $206,915 in damages including $70,000 for future loss of overtime hours and loss of earning capacity.

The full reasons for judgment can be found here.
