Rice Harbut Elliott LLP has commenced proceedings in the Supreme Court of British Columbia against JUUL LABS CANADA, LTD. Current Status
The certification hearing completed on May 16-17, 2024, and decision of the BC Supreme Court is pending. Additionally, a decision of the Supreme Court of Canada is pending in respect of the Defendant’s application for leave to appeal a decision dismissing its argument that British Columbia does not have jurisdiction to hear this case.

AND JUUL LABS, INC. in a potential class action lawsuit on behalf of all Canadians who have developed pulmonary illness (coughing, shortness of breath, chest pain) or similar symptoms after using JUUL ® brand e-cigarettes in Canada without being advised of the risks of using such products.
A copy of the Notice of Civil Claim commencing this lawsuit has been filed.
Health Canada has recently published an advisory warning of potential risks of pulmonary illness associated with vaping products.
